Anthony’s life has not been easy. Originally from Florida, he grew up in a turbulent and abusive home. At 18, he moved out to escape the abuse and missed earning his high school diploma by four credits. He spent the next two years on the street, experiencing the hardships of homelessness and food insecurity, including being robbed multiple times.
Recently, as a hurricane was bearing down on Florida, Anthony and his girlfriend decided to flee for their safety and move closer to her family up north.
When asked how he likes North Dakota, his new home, Anthony answers immediately, “It’s cold!”
But despite the weather, he is still finding warmth and community at the Dream Center, supplied by the Great Plains Food Bank, in Bismarck, North Dakota, where he can access two hot meals a day and a food box when needed.
Anthony has only been in North Dakota for a month and is struggling to find work since many of his legal documents were lost or left behind. While he sorts things out, he is grateful for friends like you who help ensure he has access to nutritious food.
Thank you for helping neighbors like Anthony while they work to get back on their feet!
