Fill the Dome

Since 2007, students across the Fargo-Moorhead community have come together in an inspiring way to take a stand against hunger through Fill the Dome. What started as a simple idea has grown into one of the region’s largest student-led food drives by proving that when young people lead with compassion, entire communities are strengthened.

Each fall, students rally their schools, families, and neighborhoods to collect donations with one shared goal: to cover the floor of the Fargodome with food. Every box, can, and bag of food collected during Fill the Dome is distributed through the Great Plains Food Bank to help provide meals for neighbors across the Fargo-Moorhead area and beyond.

The impact of Fill the Dome is powerful, not only in the thousands of pounds of food collected each year, but also in the awareness it raises about hunger in our communities. Students who participate are learning the importance of giving back, while community members are reminded that hunger is something we can only solve together.

Whether you are a student, educator, parent, or community supporter, there are so many ways to get involved. Every contribution—big or small—helps ensure that shelves are stocked and families have access to the food they need.

THE IMPACT

Since the beginning, students have collected millions of pounds of food and raised vital funds, helping provide food for children, families and seniors across their communities. The event not only fills shelves at food pantries but also empowers young leaders to make a lasting difference in their communities.

2025 Food Distribution

This past year, with individuals and families experiencing heightened need, students took their impact one step further. Food collected through Fill the Dome was distributed directly to the community through a drive-through food distribution, where more than 1,420 boxes of food were given out to nearly 475 families. Each family received three boxes of groceries, along with diapers and hygiene products as needed. Additional food went to the Great Plains Food Bank to be distributed to their partner food pantries and local school pantries.

2025 School Participants

In addition to collecting non-perishable food items for the Fill the Dome event, students are also gathering monetary donations. These funds will be used to purchase groceries for neighbors in need. If you would like to donate and allow one of the participating schools to claim your donation as a part of their campaign, you can donate by visiting the corresponding buttons below. If you don’t have a specific school you would like to donate to, you can make a community donation on the Fill the Dome general page.

  • Collected From Cookies? We use cookies and web server logs to gather information about our website users’ browsing activities. This information assists us in designing and continually improving our web pages in the most user-friendly manner. We do not use these technologies to capture any personally identifying information.

  • How Do We Protect Your Information?
    • We utilize encryption/security software to safeguard the confidentiality of personal information we collect from unauthorized access or disclosure and accidental loss, alteration or destruction. 
    • Our operations and business practices are periodically reviewed for compliance with organization policies and procedures governing the security, confidentiality and quality of our information. 
    • Our organization values ethical standards, policies and practices and is committed to the protection of user information. Our not-for-profit business practices limit employee access to confidential information, and limits the use and disclosure of such information to authorized persons, processes and transactions.
  • How Do We Secure Information Transmissions? All information transmitted through our website, giving pages, and forms are sent via secure, encrypted server. Other emails you send to us may not be secure; for that reason, we ask that you do not send confidential information such as Social Security, credit card, or account numbers to us through an unsecured email.
  • Do We Disclose Information to Outside Parties? We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may provide aggregate information about our website visitors or website traffic patterns to our contracted affiliates or third parties; this information will not include personally identifying data, except as otherwise provided in this privacy policy. DONATION REFUND POLICY

We are grateful for your donation and support of our organization. If you have made an error in making your donation or change your mind about contributing to our organization please contact us. Refunds are returned using the original method of payment. If you made your donation by credit card, your refund will be credited to that same credit card.

AUTOMATED RECURRING DONATION CANCELLATION

Ongoing support is important to enabling projects to continue their work, so we encourage donors to continue to contribute to projects over time. But if you must cancel your recurring donation, please notify us.
