The Great Plains Food Bank is thrilled to announce another successful Giving Hearts Day, thanks to the incredible support of the community and the Hess Corporation. Over $975,000 was raised for the Great Plains Food Bank on this region wide day of giving. This vital funding will go towards supporting children in need – helping them learn, grow, and thrive by ensuring they have the nutritious food they need to succeed. Each year, the Great Plains Food Bank serves over 50,000 children across North Dakota and Clay County, Minnesota.
An exciting twist of this year’s Great Plains Food Bank Giving Hearts Day was the power hour event from 4:00-6:00pm, where donations, up to $25,000, were matched and tripled thanks to the generosity of Hess Corporation. Their matching funds significantly amplified the impact of every dollar donated, inspired others to give, and helped us reach this remarkable total.
“We are beyond grateful for Hess Corporation’s continued commitment to our mission,” said Melissa Sobolik, CEO of the Great Plains Food Bank. “Their support not only tripled the impact of our donors’ gifts for those two hours but also helped provide critical support for children in our community. These funds go beyond just providing food – it’s about offering hope, security, and a chance for neighbors and children to thrive.”
The Great Plains Food Bank extends heartfelt thanks to every donor, volunteer, and partner who made Giving Hearts Day a tremendous success. The generosity shown helps put food on the table for our neighbors and hope in their hearts.
