Our hardworking neighbors Krystal and Andrew are parents to four wonderful children, ages 14, 13, 8 and 5.
Covering the cost of daily expenses can be a challenge for the family, even though Andrew maintains two nearly full-time jobs.
To make ends meet, the family budgets strictly for essentials and goes without many things like cable television, daycare and cell phones. Krystal herself does the childcare, while Andrew is at his two jobs.
When it comes to food, Krystal says, the family largely depends on what they buy from gas stations and the local dollar store in her rural North Dakota community.
“I have two teenagers and two kids in growth spurts all at the same time,” she explains.
As her children grow and develop, Krystal is especially grateful for friends like you. She can stop by the Rural Cass County Emergency Food Pantry in Casselton, ND, supplied by the Great Plains Food Bank, to supplement her family’s groceries.
“Honestly, it takes the weight off my shoulders,” Krystal says gratefully as she explains how your support helps her family. Because of you, she says, “I can feed my kids this week.”
With the food she receives at the local food pantry, Krystal can ensure her children can grow, develop and thrive. Thank you for helping end hunger together!
Elizabeth and Krystal share big thankful smiles.
I can feed my kids this week.
