FARGO N.D. – Consumer Value Stores (CVS) has graciously awarded the Great Plains Food Bank a $10,565 grant that will immediately be put to work helping to feed hungry children, seniors and families in rural communities across North Dakota and Clay County, Minn. The grant is enough to provide 21,030 meals for those in need.
Specifically, the grant will help bolster the Great Plains Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry, which operates year-round bringing trucks full of food into underserved, typically rural, communities. In a single year, the mobile food pantry makes stops at more than 100 different sites and communities across the region and provides nearly half a million pounds of food to those in need.
