FARGO, N.D. – The Great Plains Food Bank announced today it has received a $6,000 grant from Bayer Fund, a philanthropic arm of Bayer in the U.S., that will enhance our ability to better serve hungry children, seniors and families across North Dakota and Clay County, Minn. Specifically, the grant will help bolster our efforts to recover food that otherwise would go to waste and get it into the hands of the one in six individuals across North Dakota without enough food to eat each day.
The grant will be able to provide 12,000 meals for those in need. Longtime partners in the fight to end hunger, Bayer Fund has donated more than $75,000 to the Great Plains Food Bank since 2015.
“Through Bayer Fund’s giving, we’re enabling and strengthening organizations that are working to make real, sustainable impacts in their local communities across the United States,” said Al Mitchell, President of Bayer Fund. “Programs like the Great Plains Food Bank help combat the critical issue of food insecurity, and we’re proud to play a role with helping even more people in our community have access to healthy, nutritious food.”
Bayer Fund supports Bayer’s, one of the country’s largest life sciences companies, vision of Health for All, Hunger for None by working with organizations and non-profits, like Great Plains Food Bank, to deliver on shared goals and overall strengthen the country’s communities.
