A mother of three, Alysen knows a meal is more than a plate full of food — it’s the fuel her children need to grow and thrive.
The family’s life looks a little different now that Alysen and her husband have separated, but the love and care she shares with her children every day will never change.
Unfortunately, expenses have changed, and Alysen says her income isn’t enough to cover the cost of food for the whole family now that she must pay every bill herself.
“Our costs keep going up,” Alysen says, adding that on top of increased prices, it’s simply more expensive to maintain a household on her own.
That’s why Alysen visits food pantries supplied by the Great Plains Food Bank in Dickey County and the Great Plains Food Bank’s Mobile Food Pantry whenever it comes to Oakes, ND. Because of generosity like yours, she accesses food support twice a month, receiving fresh produce like oranges, onions and potatoes alongside meat, dairy products and shelf-stable items that help supplement the groceries she can afford to buy.
“I’m grateful. Things are tough right now,” Alysen says. Your choice to give provides much needed nutritious food and hope. Thank you for helping end hunger!
Your generosity brings health and hope to Alysen’s family.
